Canis Lupis, the Gray Wolf or Eastern Timber Wolf, is the icon for wild and mysterious, both in folk lore and in the wilderness world of today. It is these two attributes that Blues Wolf projects, both in the music and in the wolf vocalizations.
Timber Wolves, like humans, have a varied set of tonalities and vocalizations that are used to communicate. Their calls can be very melodic, long and drawn out, or short and tothe point. They can contain barks, whines, and snarles. They can call at anytime, day or night.
The themes of the songs featured on Blues Wolf are set in places that the Gray Wolf inhabits. The Boundary Waters of Minnesota and Ontario, Isle Royale National Park in Lake Superior, the Northwoods of Wisconsin and Glacier National Park in Montana.
